In collaboration with Boots
Can you believe it’s only another month or so before Christmas is here?
I’ve been getting into the festive spirit already by choosing some thoughtful gifts for family and friends, in collaboration with Boots. Here are some of my top gifting picks and why I’ve chosen them for the people I love. 🎄
My approach to gift giving
When it comes to buying Christmas gifts for friends and family, I always try to choose something based on their interests or that I have a feeling they’ll love. Although it can be tempting to gift lots of little presents, these days I’m more likely to choose one or two things which really match up with someone’s passions or that they’ve been talking about for a while.
If it’s a little ‘luxury’ that they wouldn’t buy themselves, then even better – Christmas is a lovely time to treat someone and make them feel special.
This extends to the gift giving itself, too. Most of my family live far away so we don’t always exchange gifts in person, but I love picking out wrapping paper, ribbons and decorating gifts with personalised tags. Wrapping gifts in a warm, cosy home with Christmas songs on the radio is one of my favourite festive moments!
Christmas gift ideas from Boots
This year, I’m delighted to be working in collaboration with Boots who challenged me to browse their gift ideas and pick out some gifts that suit my friends and family perfectly.
Boots is one of my favourite places to shop at this time of year, as the 3 for 2 offer makes buying gifts more affordable, and you can collect Advantage Card points too.
I’m terrible at buying treats for myself but love picking out gifts for others, so with the challenge accepted here are the Christmas gifts that I thought would be perfect for my friends and family.
One area that I think Boots does really well is makeup gifts. There’s a huge selection in their Christmas gifts for her section including tools, brush sets, palettes and makeup sets from brands like Soap and Glory, No7, NYX, Sleek and more.
For my sister, I’ve picked out this beautiful brush set from Real Techniques. When we last met up in September she talked about how the Real Techniques beauty sponges are her favourites, so this felt like the perfect gift to help her build her collection further.
The Bright Eyed & Merry set is a limited edition gift set, featuring four brushes for applying eyeshadow. The brushes are the usual high quality you’d expect from the brand, with super soft bristles to make applying and blending eyeshadow easy.
My family is spread out across the UK (and the world!) so we don’t always get to see each other much, but we always visit my nan around Christmas and stay for a cuppa and a chat. One year I remember travelling up on the train for a week-long stay, getting snowed in, and having cosy evenings watching Christmas movies on the TV with a hot chocolate.
I thought this set from English Heritage would make a lovely gift for my nan, as it reminded me of all the times I’ve been to visit over the festive season. When it’s cold outside and you’re far away, it’s nice to know that your family can get warm and cosy with a hot water bottle.
The hot water bottle is a good size, with a soft, knitted cover that helps to keep you toasty. I love the print on the hot chocolate and marshmallow boxes, and they taste as good as the packaging looks!
The same Winter that we got snowed in, me and my dad went on a few adventures. Despite the snow and ice on the floor we were outdoors, visiting a local wildlife park armed with a big camera. My dad really enjoys photography and videography, especially at bird and wildlife places, so we always like to go on mini adventures and capture the moments.
When it’s cold outside but you still want to explore, having a warm hat is a must-have. I’m usually snuggled up in a big coat, but my dad’s go-to hat for as long as I can remember has always been a beanie.
That’s why I’ve picked out this hat gift set from Joules for him this Christmas. The set includes a beanie that’s soft and easy to wear with anything, as well as a hair and body wash that smells great too. If you’re looking for a practical gift something like this is a great option from the Christmas gifts for him section.
It’s been a while since me and my mum celebrates Christmas together, as my mum, stepdad and sister live on the other side of the world in Australia.
When I was thinking of what to choose as a gift for my mum, I knew I wanted to find something that was stylish, practical, and that was also easy to post to Australia. This year Boots has lots of lovely non-beauty options like homeware and stationery, including this pen set by Joules.
I saw this pen and case set and thought it’d be perfect. My mum’s always on the go – working on projects around the home, studying and planning her next adventure. This set is just the right size to fit into even the smallest of handbags, so it’s always there for when she wants to make notes, and when she’s travelling to and from the UK.
Last but not least, I’ve picked out a gift for my other half, Oli.
It’s his birthday around this time of year, so I’m always listening out for ideas on what to buy him for both his birthday and Christmas. We’ve been talking about skincare recently, and I know he wanted to find something new to try.
As I was looking through the Christmas gifts on the Boots website, I found this skincare gift set from Origins. I’ve tried a few products from the brand before, and have heard good things about their Ginzing collection, so thought this would be a great choice for Oli. There’s seven different products inside, including the Drink Up Intensive overnight mask which sounds like a lovely pampering treat.
Which gifts do you plan to give this Christmas?
Are there any gifts from this post that you’ve got your eye on? Or maybe you’ve found some lovely gifts in Boots’ 3 for 2 range to gift this festive season? Let me know what you’re buying for others or hoping for under the tree this Christmas. 🎄
