Freshening Up Your Interior For The New Year

Jan. 06, 2018 / Home & Interiors

Collaborative post

We are finally at the start of the new year, and what better time to go and introduce a bit of style into your house than now?

Well, probably before all the Christmas guests got there a few weeks back would’ve been ideal, but what’s done is done, and dwelling on the past is bad for your mental health. With Christmas out of the way, your house is a clean slate ready for your artistic inner self to use it as a canvas and paint something truly marvellous to commemorate the year of 2018. Are you feeling adventurous and will end up trying something completely different this time around, or will you keep with the current aesthetic of the house with a few minor changes here and there to keep things fresh? Either way, you probably would like some ideas for this special occasion, and we are here to discuss just that.

Some new furniture never killed anyone

As superficial as some people may say fancy furniture is, no one complains when they have a new sofa to laze about on. Whether you like it or not, we are creatures naturally drawn to comfort and nice things in general, trying to deny liking nice things is not only foolish but unnatural. If you do not personally feel like you have the time for an all-day trip to IKEA or any other furniture store, keep in mind we are indeed in 2018, and if we so desire, we can order our furniture online. Company websites such as https://www.danetti.com/ usually have online stores, meaning you can get your furniture straight from the source, rather than a semi-questionable reseller online or eBay. Not that there is anything inherently wrong with eBay, but surely everyone has heard some horror stories about receiving a brick instead of an iPhone before when shopping online. Whether you are looking for some new shelves, or maybe a new kitchen counter, having the option of home delivery is most definitely a godsend in this case.

Successfully refreshing an interior without remodelling everything

If you have the money to remodel your whole flat or house, then go right ahead. Objectively the best thing to do if you want to completely refresh and change up the interior almost all of the time. Sadly, not many people have enough money to just go ahead and spend a decent chunk of money on random furniture to “freshen things up”. However, you can give an existing interior an entirely new feel by just changing up a few things which are usually the main factors in creating a room’s aesthetic. Replacing the main focal points of the room like the sofa, which is usually the centrepiece of the room, along with the coffee table can completely change up the interior at first glance. If you happen to have a carpet or rug in the room, change that as well as they often make up a rather large portion of the room’s overall look. If all else fails, and you simply cannot get rid of the previous aesthetic then just repaint the walls to a different colour. It is bound to both inspire you and change just about everything, if you cannot stick with one colour then keep in mind that a two-tone paint job is always an option.
